In Minecraft, the syntax for changing the game mode is : /gamemode <mode> [player]

The <mode> is the game mode you wish to switch to. It can be one of the following :

  • survival (can be abbreviated to s or 0 in the Bedrock edition) for Survival mode
  • creative (can be abbreviated to c or 1 in the Bedrock edition) for Creative mode
  • adventure (can be abbreviated to a or 2 in the Bedrock edition) for Adventure mode
  • spectator for Spectator mode

Note that “hardcore” is not a valid option, as it is not technically a game mode.
