A smoker in Minecraft is a block that cooks food twice as fast as a normal oven, but can’t cook anything else. It also serves as a butcher’s workstation in villages.
How do you build a smoker in Minecraft ?
Building a smoker is relatively easy, provided you have the necessary ingredients. You’ll need a stove and 4 logs (of any type).
Natural smoker generation
Smoker can be generated naturally in any butcher’s shop, provided you manage to find one in a village.
How to use a smoker in Minecraft
Smoker are used to cook edible objects twice as fast as an ordinary oven. It’s the counterpart of the blast furnace, which is used to quickly melt ores, metal tools and armor. When a food item and a fuel item are placed in the smoker, the block state becomes lit and the item cooks.
The fuel is used twice as fast as in ordinary furnaces, so the number of objects cooked per fuel remains the same. The product can then be collected by pressing use on the smoker, or by collecting the outlet with a funnel.
Smoker cannot cook chorus fruit, as burst chorus fruit is inedible.
Change of profession
If a village has a smoker that hasn’t been claimed by a villager, any nearby villager who hasn’t chosen a task block has a chance to change their profession to butcher.
