Install and run Minecraft with the Forge profile once

Close Minecraft

Press WINDOWS + R keys simultaneously.

This will open the command prompt

Type %appdata% in the window

You can copy / paste the text in italics

Confirm or press the Enter key

This will open the minecraft folder

Navigate to the /mods folder

It is located at the root

Drag in this folder the mods you want to install

The downloaded mod should be moved here

Launch Minecraft and select the installed mod

  6. Navigate to the /mods folder

The procedure to install a mod with Minecraft Forge under Linux :

  1. Install and launch Minecraft with the Forge profile once
  2. Close Minecraft
  3. Simultaneously press ALT + F2 keys
  4. Type .minecraft.
  5. Validate and you will be taken directly to the folder (GNOME only, CTRL + H in the personal folder for other graphic environments).
  6. Drag the downloaded mod without extracting it into .minecraft/mods.
  7. Your modded game is ready to use, but remember to select the Forge profile under Ubuntu.
